About Louis

Louis is from North London he started riding in August 1999 at the age of fourteen and a half; on his mother's 6 yr old Belgium Warm blood Quick de Darmen, who had only competed in 2 shows the year before.

They started competing in October 1999 and in their first year Louis and Quick were placed in all their Newcomers first rounds with double clears and won all their first round Foxhunter qualifiers. They qualified for the national 1.20 1.25, 1.30, B&C, under 16's and under 18's championships, all of which they were placed above 6th. Within two years they were jumping in 1.40s and within four years they were jumping Grand Prix.

In 2002 Louis was ranked 29th in the country, with the one horse and was asked to represent his country in the under 21's. Louis is one of the only young riders in the UK to have produced his own horse from novice to Grand Prix level at their first attempt.

His skill has not gone unnoticed. He has been offered many riding jobs in the UK and abroad, including riding for John and Clare Whittaker in 2002.

He has also ridden for a top South African flat trainer now based in Wendover Bucks Gavin Bates as a training jockey. Even though he loves competing, his passion and his income comes from breaking and producing young show jumpers and eventers. He produced as a 4yr Mr Medicott who won Olympic team gold for Germany with Franks Ostholt in 2008.

Louis also does some double/stunt work over the years on some big movies. Harry Potter-Alexandra-The Phantom of the Opera. And the new Robin Hood film starring Russell Crowe, which will be out in May 2010.

Louis has also taught a few Hollywood actors, Olando Bloom (Troy) - Lian Nelson (Kingdom of heaven) and Dijmon Hounsou (From Gladiator) We offer a secure private place to learn for all actors that need to polish up their equestrian skills. Louis has 3 new owners as part of his team, and is aiming this year to get back on the British ranking list.
